Officially opened on April 1 st , this station is the first concrete step in Issy-les-Moulineaux’s commitment to developing hydrogen applications for the mobility and residential sectors, to fight air pollution and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
Located in the Arches district, this first station will be able to distribute up to 200kg of green hydrogen per day, which is equivalent to 40 light passenger vehicle tanks per day. This station, with two delivery pressures available, 350 and 700 bar, will be suitable for all types of vehicles: taxis, commercial vehicles, buses, trucks, waste collection vehicles, etc.
A strong commitment by Issy-les-Moulineaux to hydrogen mobility, supported by the Ile-de-France region, the French Agency for Ecological Transition (ADEME), and the European Union.
For several years now, the City of Issy-les-Moulineaux (“the City”) has been promoting the use of alternatives to fossil fuels (e.g. renewable electricity, geothermal energy and others). Within this framework, Issy-les-Moulineaux has focused in particular on the development of hydrogen. As a clean energy source, hydrogen is at the apex of the priorities identified by the City. It is a low environmental impact alternative, is complementary to other solutions and is well suited to accelerate the development of renewable energies.
At the forefront of depolluted and decarbonized urban mobility, the City of Issy-lesMoulineaux has enlisted the help of two hydrogen mobility pioneers to carry out this project.
Hype, an independent pure-player in hydrogen mobility, launched by Mathieu Gardies in 2015, is developing the first integrated hydrogen mobility platform simultaneously offering supply, production, distribution and uses. Operating the largest fleet of hydrogen taxis in the world for eight years, and organising the integration of new uses into its platform as they arrive on the market, Hype has contributed its proven expertise in the field of hydrogen mobility to the success of this project.
This new station is part of the “Last Mile by Hype” ecosystem taken over by Hype at the beginning of 2022, which is supported by the French Agency for Ecological Transition (ADEME), the Ile-deFrance Region and the European Union. This project includes the deployment of green hydrogen production and refuelling stations in the Ile-de-France region, as well as the development of the Last Mile logistics market. Besides, the construction of the station is also supported by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, as part of the European project H2ME2.
IntHy, an innovative player in the energy transition sector, develops and operates green hydrogen production and distribution infrastructure projects, coupled with renewable energy production to provide zero-emission mobility solutions. Drawing on its recognised business expertise, the group develops regional energy ecosystems, delivering low environmental impact solutions. IntHy offers its clients and partners an integrated approach to the entire life cycle of an energy infrastructure project, from its development to its operation, with a long-term investment strategy. In 2019, IntHy partnered with Dijon Métropole to develop the first fully integrated, local, zero-carbon mobility ecosystem on a city-wide scale (production, storage and supply). The Issy-Les-Moulineaux station is based on this unique expertise in Europe.
In partnership with the Swiss energy company Alpiq, IntHy is offering private transporters and logistics businesses an integrated turnkey, heavy mobility solution called “HyWay” (from the electron to the truck) throughout France.
Hydrogen uses
The city of Issy-les-Moulineaux, known for its economic dynamism, is home to a number of large companies. Many of them, at various stages of development, are in the process of integrating hydrogen into their vehicle fleets. A frontrunner in this field, the Orange Group based in Issyles-Moulineaux, has commissioned its first light commercial hydrogen vehicle, the Peugeot eExpert Hydrogen. This vehicle is part of the “Last Mile by Hype” ecosystem.

This is why, in partnership with Hype and IntHy, the city of Issy-les-Moulineaux is installing a station in the heart of its territory that will allow various vehicles to refuel with hydrogen.”

For this opening, we are excited to have refuelled the first hydrogen-powered light commercial vehicle acquired by the Orange Group, which is part of the Last Mile by Hype ecosystem, and to have presented the first hydrogen minivan taxi adapted to the Transport of People with Reduced Mobility (TPMR), produced by Stellantis in Hordain, France, and transformed in collaboration with Hype.”

In Ilede-France, we import nearly 87% of our energy. The development of renewable energies, and therefore hydrogen, is a matter of sovereignty.
