The leading taxi and ride-hailing platforms love to showcase so-called “green” services. That’s a myth.
The reality is, these major market players still operate fleets made up overwhelmingly of diesel, petrol, and especially hybrid vehicles ; hybrids being thermal (combustion) vehicles, and therefore polluting, despite being misleadingly marketed as “green.” And their targets for transitioning to zero-emission (100% electric) vehicles are distant and uncertain at best.
Another fact: pollution kills. And the ride-hailing sector is the number one polluter among urban passenger transport services. In the Île-de-France region alone, over 60,000 vehicles circulate daily in our streets.
This public health and environmental emergency demands clear and immediate action. Wordplay and vague long-term promises fall short of what’s needed. The only valid response is to act now.
That’s what we’ve been doing since 2015 by offering, at no extra cost, the only zero-emission taxi service (100% electric) on the market.
And our commitment doesn’t stop there.
In July 2024, we launched with our partners the SWITCH movement to accelerate the adoption of zero-emission mobility, by mobilizing public and private decision-makers.
